Leading Hospitals Gather at Spok's Annual Conference to Share Best Practices in Critical CommunicationsSAN ANTONIO --(Business Wire)-- Spok, Inc. today welcomed leaders from more than 100 hospitals and health systems to Connect 14, its annual conference for healthcare professionals. Healthcare representatives gather each year to share best practices about critical communications and workflow as well as hear about the evolution of healthcare communications. The conference opened this morning with remarks from Vincent D. Kelly, chief executive officer, and Colin Balmforth, president. The leaders shared a brief preview of upcoming product releases and offered insights into the strategic direction of the Company. Morning highlights also included an in-depth case study from BJC HealthCare. This long-time customer and healthcare leader relies on Spok® solutions in both clinical and call center settings to improve the way physicians and others effectively coordinate patient care. The three-day event will feature numerous customer case studies, panel discussions, the Physician Advisory Board, and product demonstrations. It is also a chance for members of the Spok Directions user group to meet in person and deliver feedback to Spok product experts. Session topics include HIPAA-compliant texting, Joint Commission compliance, alarm fatigue, and the latest trends in mobile communications. "Our conference is an excellent forum for us to exchange information and ideas with many of our healthcare customers," said Kelly. "The informal interaction is an opportunity to hear their feedback. Face-to-face meetings are also invaluable in helping guide improvements in the way we develop, deliver, and support our solutions." Additional updates from the conference will be posted to Spok's Mobility in Healthcare blog, Twitter feed, and Facebook page.
