LANCOM Systems at CeBIT 2013: focus on high security, high speed and intelligent network management

Jan 23, 2013 (M2 PRESSWIRE via COMTEX) -- LANCOM is attracting visitors to its booth at this year's CeBIT (hall 13, booth C28) with numerous innovations in smart wireless LAN and VPN infrastructures. Along with even higher performance from their access points, VPN routers and 3G/4G solutions, the focus is on LANCOM's software solutions for efficient network management and the roll- out of large-scale installations.

The leading German manufacturer of professional network solutions also places a special emphasis on the subject of high security. At the center of attention are the "Common Criteria" VPN routers for highly secure Internet-based site connectivity.

In the field of VPN, LANCOM exhibits the latest members of its LANCOM 1781 series of routers. These products are based on an entirely new high- performance hardware platform designed to meet the most rigorous demands on bandwidth and availability: Indoor and outdoor models offering 3G/4G, fiber-optics, 450 Mbps 802.11n WLAN, and Gigabit Ethernet with throughput rates of up to 900 Mbps. The most important products in the field of WLAN are the 450-series access points with smart features such as band steering and the integrated spectrum analyzer. For the first time this technology is available in an elegant white housing - the ideal solution for environments with high standards of design, such as in the hospitality industry.

LANCOM experts will enjoy a first look at the upcoming LANCOM operating system LCOS 8.80. Along with IPv6 support, a significant increase in throughput, and a number of new hotspot functions-such as the transmission of login data by SMS - the latest version of LCOS offers around 100 improvements.

For customers, systems vendors and integrators with large infrastructure projects, LANCOM is exhibiting its solutions for management and rollout.

The LANCOM LSM (Large Scale Monitor) and the new LSR (Large Scale Rollout & Management) are smart solutions for the centralized management, monitoring, and automated roll-out of large-scale and distributed installations.

In the field of high security, LANCOM is extending its portfolio of solutions for highly secured site connectivity. The latest highly secure VPN routers provide sensitive government and corporate networks with maximum protection against cyber attack, such as through interception, tampering, or sabotage. These devices, which are completely developed and manufactured in Germany-Europe, are currently undergoing certification by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) in accordance with Common Criteria (CC) as most secure and trusted IT security products (test number BSI-DSZ-CC-0815). The aim is to achieve the highest level of certification for commercial network products, EAL4+. "As always, CeBIT is setting the standards in the ITC branch.

It is our most important event of the year," says Ralf Koenzen, Managing Director of LANCOM Systems. As he explains: "We have scheduled a number of our most important product launches for the 2013 event, and we have invested considerable effort in presenting thematic scenarios that should appeal to the public." LANCOM is expecting numerous system vendors and resellers, who will be able to meet with their contact persons on location. Large numbers of customers interested in industry-specific solutions are also expected. These visitors will find detailed information on LANCOM's solution scenarios for industries such as the hotel and catering industry, retail, education and health, and also for the public sector.
