Kenya : TUSKYS officially allowed to acquire rival UKWALA's store [TendersInfo (India)](TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) As the Competition Authority gazetted the deal, Retailer Tuskys won official approval to acquire rival Ukwala's store sited on Jogoo Road. Tuskys was targeting six stores of Ukwala supermarkets but the deal hit a snag after the CAK blocked it raising concerns that Tuskys would dominate the retail industry within the CBD where most of the stores it wanted to acquire exist. The gazette said : "The Competition Authority of Kenya has approved the proposed acquisition cited herein conditionally and allowed for the acquisition of the business and assets of only Ukwala Supermarket branch on Jogoo Road, Nairobi by Tusker Mattresses Limited."
