Jayalalithaa opens English language research and training centre [Chennai] [Times of India]


(Times of India Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu chief minister J Jayalalithaa on Thursday inaugurated an integrated English language research and training centre at Somarasampettai Government High School in Trichy district through video conferencing from the state secretariat.



The facility, developed at a cost of Rs 25 lakh, has 30 computers, printers, Xerox copier machine, LCD and a projector, according to a press release.

Apart from this, the chief minister also inaugurated several other buildings and facilities in various schools at a total cost of of Rs 103.75 crore. They include additional classrooms, laboratories, drinking water facilities and school compound walls in 22 districts.


The government has appointed 53,288 teachers and more are to be appointed.

State education minister K C Veeramani, chief secretary Mohan Verghese Chunkanth and other senior officials were present.
