[April 27, 2006] IRICO Display Devices Begins to Make Plasma Panels Tweet (SinoCast Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)SHAANXI, Apr 27, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) --The annual report of IRICO Display Devices Co. showed it incurred CNY 552 million loss last year. But it is indicated that the company is innovating business and cultivating fresh profit growth area. The company joined forces with domestic TV maker Changhong Electric to make investment in building China's first plasma display production line, and they have established a joint venture for the business. The production line is able to produce 1.6 million plasma panels per year, and the two parties set to build the venture into the largest research and development and manufacturing company across the country within two to three years. IRICO Display Devices Co., China's top CRT (Cathode Ray Tube) maker, saw 2005 production and sales of color picture tubes went down from a year earlier, reaching 5.9708 million and 6.3928 million units respectively.
