Ireland,Uganda : SMART TELECOM makes USD300m investment for telecoms networks in EAST AFRICA [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Smart Telecom Company, regional operator announced that it has commenced its stall for placing USD300 million over the next five years.

The investment is made to flourish its telecoms networks and services in its East African markets of Burundi, Tanzania and Uganda.

In a meeting with journalists this week in Kampala, Smart Telecom group CEO Abdellatif Bouziani confirmed: We are going to spend USD300 million over the next five years to bring the latest technology to expand our telecommunication services especially data network services in Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi Telecommunication systems are shifting from voice telephone to data, this is where modern telecommunication requires advanced technology and infrastructure to provide high quality services to the general public .



in March this year, having set up a new mobile venture under the Smart Telecom banner in Uganda, the chief executive indicates that the country, and indeed the East African region as a whole, holds ample potential for telecoms operators, requiring that they continually expand and innovate with new products.
