Iran may possess nuclear weapons within 3 years: ex-CIA chief+

(Japan Economic Newswire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)MUNICH, Germany, Feb. 6_(Kyodo) _ It is likely that Iran could develop and possess nuclear weapons within three years with the cooperation of North Korea, James Woolsey, former U.S. Central Intelligence Agency chief, has told Kyodo News.

Iran is now making a concerted effort to obtain highly-enriched uranium and plutonium on the underground market, and Tehran will soon be able to have ballistic missiles with nuclear warheads, he said Sunday in Munich, where he attended an international conference.

Woolsey, now a military strategy consultant, headed the CIA from 1993 to 1995.
