iPhone virtualisation App released by Wyse


(Worldwide Computer Products News Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Virtualisation specialist Wyse Technology today announced the availability of its Wyse PocketCloud App for the Apple iPhone, designed to allow IT administrators and end users to access their PC and virtual desktops remotely through their iPhone.

The company said that the App uses a highly optimised Wyse implementation of Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) 6.0 to connect and communicate with a virtual or physical machine.

The PocketCloud App is compatible with iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, and iPod touch and is able to accesses any physical or virtualised infrastructure that supports the Microsoft RDP protocol, it also supports the VMware View 3.1 connection broker in direct and tunnelling modes. SSL is supported in both cases and the 1.0 release has experimental support for RSA 2-factor authentication.


The PocketCloud App is available for USD29.99 from the App Store on iPhone and iPod touch or at http://www.itunes.com/appstore/.
