RDATE:04082008

Maple Lake works with Loughborough University and Invest Leicestershire
to create 15 new jobs over next three years

International retail software provider, Maple Lake is to create up to
15 new jobs in Leicestershire over the next three years. The
Canadian-based company employs 10 staff at its UK headquarters in
Hamilton, Leicester and is recruiting to help grow the business as it
looks to expand into Europe.

Invest Leicestershire and Loughborough University will help to
facilitate the recruitment process by focusing on graduates from the
University's Business School. Invest Leicestershire is also in
discussions with the University of Leicester and De Montfort University
over similar agreements to help Maple Lake recruit graduates from
Computer Sciences courses for roles as technical consultants.

Bob Jolley, Commercial Director at Maple Lake said: "Previous business
experience has shown to me the enormous talent that exists within the
Leicestershire area when businesses like ours increase their workforce
in line with their strategic business expansion. The ability to work
with accredited educational establishments like Loughborough University
will provide further joint opportunities for enthusiastic and educated
business people."

Martin Peters, Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Promotions said:
"This latest success is further evidence of our commitment to take
advantage of the world-class expertise on offer at our three local
universities to support the business case for investment in Leicester
and Leicestershire. Maple Lake has shown its own commitment to
Leicester and Leicestershire by opening up its dedicated UK office here
in 2007, supported by the work of the East Midlands Development Agency.
We are glad that we've able to help broker a solution that will help
the business to grow further."

Cathy Hart, Retail Programme Director, at Loughborough University
commented: "This is excellent news for our future graduates and
reinforces Loughborough University's position as the highest ranked UK
Retail University and a Top 10 Business School. We look forward to
working with Maple Lake over the next three years."

Kishor Tailor, Chief Executive of Leicester Shire Economic Partnership
added: "This is good news for Leicestershire and a real boost for our
growing retail sector. Maple Lake, a retail software specialist,
together with the University specialising in design, retailing and
computer sciences, creates a unique blend of opportunities for our
graduates to stay in Leicestershire and be successful. We welcome Maple
Lake's investment and hope to work with them in the future."

Earlier this year, Invest Leicestershire initiated the 'Three
Universities for Business' campaign to boost engagement with the three
Leicestershire-based universities and local and regional businesses.
The initiative brings together the complementary professional and
technical expertise, and wide range of specialist services from De
Montfort University, Loughborough University and the University of
Leicester. This will enable local and regional companies to easily
identify opportunities for engagement with the universities to support
their business performance. Further information can be obtained from
