International Association of Accessibility Professionals Selects SmithBucklin for Full-Service Management

The International Association of Accessibility Professionals (IAAP) has selected SmithBucklin, the association management and services company more organizations turn to than any other, to provide full-service association management. SmithBucklin's Christine Murphy Peck will serve as IAAP's CEO, and its headquarters will be in Washington, D.C.

Launched in 2014, IAAP defines, promotes and improves the accessibility profession globally through networking, education and certification in order to enable the creation of accessible products, content and services. The association defines accessibility as providing access to information for everyone, regardless of age or ability, so that individuals can realize their full potential. More than 1,700 accessibility professionals from 50 countries already have enrolled for membership.

"We trust that SmithBucklin will provide leadership and value to our growing membership," said IAAP President Rob Sinclair. "Christine is an experienced association executive with expertise in the development of curriculum and certification programs, so she is uniquely qualified to lead IAAP. As a young organization, we're ecited about the future and looking forward to continuing our growth in 2015 and meeting many of our new members at upcoming industry events."

"I am excited about our partnership with IAAP, especially since the initial concept for IAAP was developed by the Assistive Technology Industry Association, another SmithBucklin client organization," said Matt Sanderson, executive vice president & chief executive, Business + Trade Industry Practice. "We are committed to helping IAAP achieve its goals and establish the organization as the preeminent global authority on the accessibility profession."

In her role as CEO, Peck will work with the IAAP board to develop a strong strategic vision for the organization. She also will lead all aspects of the association's operations, including developing and managing a certification program, launching and executing IAAP's annual event, overseeing marketing and communications, and supporting financial management and accounting services. "The entire staff team and I feel so fortunate to be part of IAAP and its mission," Peck said. "We are committed to helping accessibility professionals and organizations worldwide build their skills and strategies."

Peck has more than 25 years of experience in nonprofit management, corporate education and facilitation, and strategic planning. She is a past recipient of the Lamaze International President's Award and the Best in Show Award from the Center for Association Leadership.
