Intel Hitting New Lows On Concerns The Chip Cycle Is Over (INTC)

(Benzinga Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Shares of Intel Corporation (Nasdaq: INTC) are at a 52 week low and continuing to act weak after the semiconductor company announced earnings a few weeks ago.

Late last week, the company also announced an acquisition for McAfee (NYSE: MFE) at a 60% premium, which baffled some investors as to why the world's largest chip maker would want to get into the security software business.

There is concern on Wall Street that the last quarter for Intel was the top of the mountain and that results will slow.

Shares of Intel are currently down 7 cents to trade at $18.34 on just over 8.3 million shares in early Wednesday trading.
