InkaFarma Chooses LogFire Cloud-Based SaaS WMSMay 24, 2012 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- Eckerd Peru, operator for InkaFarma, Peru's mega pharmacy which is part of the Interbank Group, has chosen LogFire cloud-based extended warehouse management system. According to a release, this WMS solution is being implemented to maximize efficiencies as part of InkaFarma's new fully automated distribution center. The company noted that following the successful implementation of LogFire's cloud-based WMS solution at Interbank's supermarket group Supermercados, LogFire's extended warehouse management cloud-based solution will be leveraged to maximize efficiencies and create consistency throughout more of Interbank's retail subsidiaries, including InkaFarma. "We have an ambitious long-term vision and the LogFire cloud-based WMS solution gives us the ability to standardize our logistics systems across Interbank subsidiaries while providing us with flexibility as well as cost savings and increased efficiencies throughout our operations," says Carlos Furentes Interbank Group, Corporate CIO. LogFire said its extended WMS offers traceability and order tracking features based on expiration date, serial number and batch number tracking. It also provides reverse logistics capabilities to track pharmaceutical inventory returns. LogFire added that its configurable Tier 1 functionality, operates in a cost effective SaaS (Software as a Service) pricing model. It is highly configurable, flexible and offers extended functionality features in a cloud-based environment. The solution will also integrate the warehouse control system and will be tied to the material handling equipment at InkaFarma, providing full warehouse automation. LogFire's WMS will also operate on mobile tablets that will be used throughout the warehouse. This will allow an increase in productivity in all warehouse operations, and it will improve the quality of communication and eliminate the need for fixed workstations, improving efficiency, flexibility, and productivity. "InkaFarma's plan is a quantum leap for the company, moving them to fully automated warehouse operations," says LogFire's Founder and CEO, Diego Pantoja-Navajas. "After our success with Supermercados, we were excited to leverage and extend LogFire's benefits -- low start-up costs, quick implementation timeframes, continuous upgrades, and quality customer service -- to the rest of Interbank Group's family of businesses. We look forward to playing a productive and expanding role in Interbank Group's success." InkaFarma is a retail pharmacy chain in Peru.
