Ingate Launches SIP Trunking Network at www.siptrunk.org

Industry-Wide Effort to Educate the Enterprise Community About SIP Trunking

Customer Resource for Everything About SIP Trunks, to Ease Deployments

STOCKHOLM, May 9, 2007 – Ingate® Systems (www.ingate.com), which develops firewall technology and products that enable SIP-based live communication for the enterprise while maintaining control and security at the network edge, has established the SIP Trunking Network at www.siptrunk.org, an educational resource on SIP trunking. This Web-based portal will aggregate information from throughout the SIP trunking community in an industry-wide effort to educate enterprises about SIP trunking, to help simplify deployments.

“There’s a strong demand for information on SIP trunking among enterprise users. Recent research, including a January 2007 report from Aberdeen Group (‘Got SIP?: Savings, Simplicity and Scalability’), confirms this,” said Olle Westerberg, Chief Executive Officer, Ingate Systems (News - Alert). “The goal of the SIP Trunking Network is to collaborate with other SIP trunking vendors, service providers and thought leaders to provide a single authoritative resource for customers, where they can find accurate information about issues, benefits and how to deploy SIP trunks.”

To date, several industry leaders have joined the SIP Trunking Network community, agreeing to add their unique insights and other content. At launch date these community members include: SIP trunking equipment vendors 3Com, Acme Packet, BroadSoft, Digium/Asterisk (News - Alert), Mitel, NexTone, Objectworld, Pingtel, ShoreTel, Sphere; and SIP trunking service providers BandTel, Bandwidth.com, Cbeyond and VoEX. TMCnet’s Internet Telephony Magazine (News - Alert) is also a member.

A Single Resource for SIP Trunking Information
SIPtrunk.org will serve as the source for SIP trunking information on the technology, vendors, critical issues and a host of topics. Featured on the site:
• A discussion forum where visitors can learn and debate in realtime
• White papers from IP-PBX vendors, Internet Telephony service providers (ITSPs) and Ingate Systems
• Guest editorials
• An educational center to include background information on the technology, critical issues and SIP trunk deployments
• A resource list, for additional research on SIP trunking

“SIPtrunk.org addresses a vital need for accurate information on SIP trunking from every perspective,” said Rich Tehrani, President, TMC (News - Alert). “End users and even those businesses considering SIP trunking can now turn to this single resource where they can get all the information the need to make an educated decision about how to successfully deploy SIP trunks.”

Promoting Secure Standards
Another goal of SIPtrunk.org is to educate the enterprise community about the benefits of providing secure solutions that adhere to industry standards – specifically, the SIPconnect standard established by the SIP Forum (News - Alert). SIPconnect serves as a set of best practices for interfacing to an IP-PBX that attempts to eliminate some of the unknowns and incompatibilities.
