Info on crown prince's tour of Osaka leaked on Internet via Winny+

(Japan Economic Newswire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)OSAKA, April 22_(Kyodo) _ Accidental data leak cases involving Winny, a file-sharing software, have increased as an expressway operator admitted Saturday information on tours of dignitaries, including Japan's crown prince and princess, has been leaked onto the Internet.

The leaked data files, in the form of internal documents made by a contractor of then Hanshin Expressway Public Corp., showed routes, schedules and other information about the visits to Osaka by Crown Prince Naruhito and Crown Princess Masako, and a senior Chinese legislator in September 2003.

The operator, now known as Hanshin Expressway Co., had entrusted the contractor, whose business is currently under suspension, with patrolling the expressway.

Police told Hanshin Expressway of the leaks in February.

One of the two files, each titled "VIP," bears records of the royal couple visiting a medical center for an academic meeting and also showed estimated times when they passed through interchanges and other locations on the expressway.

Another file bears similar estimated times and routes to Kansai airport purportedly used by Wu Bangguo, chairman of the Standing Committee of China's National People's Congress.

"We take (the leakage) seriously," Hanshin Expressway said, expressing a willingness to order its contractors to "place classified information under strict control."

Numerous data leak cases from Winny-installed computers held by officials of private companies and government offices in Japan, including the police and Self-Defense Forces, have been reported.
