Industry Analyst Jeff Kagan on Sprint Bringing Google Apps to Business

(PR Web Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) July 24, 2014 Sprint and Google are teaming up. Sprint will sell Google Apps to business customers interested in the cloud service, according to this Sprint press release, July 23.

Sprint is expanding their service offerings with this partnership with Google.

Industry analyst Jeff Kagan offers comment.

"The cloud is the next big thing in the tech world. Companies are moving more of their business to the cloud all the time. This is a process that will take several years. We are just in the very early stages of this new opportunity," says Wireless analyst Jeff Kagan.

"Most companies know they need to be moving to the cloud, but most companies either don't have the know-how or don't trust the technology enough yet. This is a process that will get better year after year," says Technology analyst Kagan.

"Google is a big player in the new cloud space. Partnering with Google will help Sprint take a giant leap forward into this new marketplace. Google is a big cloud player and Google apps are very important in that space. Sprint will partner with Google and provide these cloud and app services to their customers. And that is whether they are Sprint wireless customers or not," says Tech analyst Kagan.

"This is a win for Sprint and a win for Google in their cloud space. I would imagine this agreement will most likely grow and mature as does the cloud space over the next few years. It is important for companies to get an early start in this cloud space. To start associating their brand name with the cloud. That way as the cloud matures, they will go along for the ride which is right where they want to be," says Principal analyst Kagan.

Sprint will offer Google Apps for the Business cloud service. However, customers of this service are not required to use Sprint wireless network or devices.
