India strongly condemns suicide bombing in Sri Lanka+(Japan Economic Newswire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)NEW DELHI, April 26_(Kyodo) _ Indian Defense Minister Pranab Mukherjee has condemned the suicide bombing in Sri Lanka on Tuesday that killed five people and left Sri Lanka's army commander seriously wounded, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement late Tuesday. The minister "strongly condemned" the "brazen act of terrorism" and reiterated India's conviction political dialogue is the only way to resolve outstanding issues. He told Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapakse of India's "solidarity with the government and people of Sri Lanka in this difficult hour." Rajapakse thanked India for the support, the statement added. |
