India : RENAULT INDIA aims to buy 5 per cent market share within 3 years [TendersInfo (India)]


(TendersInfo (India) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Renault declared that it is planning to purchase 5 per cent market share in India in coming 2 to 3 years and has pulled its socks to foray into the mass segment.

The existing portfolio of Renault India primarily consists of premium offerings except for the Duster SUV and Pulse hatchback. The company is developing Lodgy MPV and a sub-4 lakh hatchback for India, among the new products being developed for domestic market.



The company estimated for over 2 per cent of market share in 2013 in India. MPV segment is growing in India at the same time popularity of sub-4 lakh hatchback segment is going to remain intact in coming time also. Lodgy MPV, already available for sale in various overseas markets, is being tweaked for the Indian customers.

The sub-4 lakh hatchback will be a completely new product on the other hand. Keeping in mind the launch of new products in India portfolio, the company has bolstered production capacity of Renault-Nissan alliance manufacturing unit located in suburbs of Chennai from 4 lakh units to 4.8 lakh units annually.
