Inca expands Cambrdige support facilities & boosts business development team to meet strong global interest

(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Inca Digital has responded to the increased world interest in its wide-format flatbed digital inkjet printers with a major expansion at its Cambridge, UK headquarters. Further investment in the companys dedicated Training and Validation Centre enhances Incas ability to support its customers and distributors, plus offers an expanded business development resource within the R&D department and accelerates Incas strategy to develop its inkjet technology for a variety of industrial applications.

The new facilities, officially opened yesterday by Mr. Masahiro Hashimoto, Vice Chairman of Incas parent company Screen Holdings Co Ltd, and investment in further R&D space, increase Incas capability by more than 20%.

The purpose-designed Training and Validation Centre is equipped with a range of Inca hardware and software, and will provide a comprehensive spectrum of support services to Incas partners, end users and distributors. Key functions include pre-dispatch validation of Incas major product lines, the Inca Onset printers, sold exclusively and globally by Fujifilm, and the Truepress Jet W3200UV series, sold through Screen Holdings. Additional functions include providing in-depth, personalised training to customers and distributors, more extensive testing of new features, and the evaluation of exciting new substrates.

Incas new centre will also become the WHITE CANVAS INCA facility within the Screen Holdings organisation, joining WHITE CANVAS MON-NAKA and WHITE CANVAS RAKUSAI in Japan. Screens innovative WHITE CANVAS centres provide expert facilities where the focus is on complete production solutions and partnership with customers and industry partners.

Dr Jim Taylor joins business development team Inca has also expanded its industrial capabilities with the formation of a Business Development team, headed up by Mr Johnny Otani and Dr Jim Taylor. Previously business development manager of Xennias ink consultancy group, Jim Taylor earlier co-founded the Cambridge-based software development consultancy Cametrics. During this time, he was instrumental in the development of software for industrial inkjet applications, including full-colour variable data printing and high-speed, high-resolution coding using large single-pass printhead arrays.

This is a great time to be joining Inca because there are so many exciting opportunities opening up for the companys innovative inkjet technology, especially in the wider and multi-faceted industrial sector, says Dr Taylor. Im looking forward to helping Inca identify new applications not only for our existing models, but also developing new added-value solutions for new markets.

These announcements are further evidence that Inca Digital keeps going from strength to strength, says John Mills, CEO, Inca Digital. As sales of the Onset and Truepress ranges continue to grow and companies around the world move to total digital production, it is essential that we not only continue to invest in our expert support facilities, but that we also explore new opportunities for our customers and the business as a whole.
