The event, hosted by Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) on Capitol Hill, featured expert contributions from two software management experts: Steven I. Cooper, Partner at The Strativest Group, LLC and former Chief Information Officer for both the Department of Homeland Security and the Aviation Traffic Organization at the Federal Aviation Administration; and Eric B. Cho, Procurement Analyst for the Department of Homeland Security and Detailee for Acquisition Policy at the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Deborah Collier, CAGW's Technology Policy Director, served as moderator. According to a releae, the discussion focused on sound software procurement policy, particularly under current fiscal constraints, and the additional impetus for agencies to purchase only what they need. Advanced software asset management tools are available that can assist agencies in better managing their software inventory.
