Hurricane Electric to Speak at IPv6 Implementers Conference

FREMONT, Calif. --(Business Wire)-- Hurricane Electric, the premier IPv6 transit company, is presenting fresh data about IPv6 traffic levels at the IPv6 Implementers Conference being held March 19 and 20, 2009 in Mountain View, CA.

Martin Levy, Director of IPv6 Strategy for Hurricane Electric, will discuss IPv6 traffic levels at global peering points along with Hurricane Electric's real-world IPv6 traffic levels. These levels have been steadily increasing and are a positive indication of the current state of worldwide IPv6 readiness.

IPv6 is the next generation of Internet addressing, and Hurricane Electric has been the leading pioneer in this vital technology. Hurricane Electric has developed the world's largest global, dual-stack IPv4 and IPv6 Internet backbone with more IPv6 peering and interconnection than any other global backbone. Their expertise and strategy have helped the extensive IPv6 growth around the world, resulting in significant IPv6 traffic levels that far exceed their global competitors.

"We're extremely excited to be a part of such a monumental event," said Mike Leber, President of Hurricane Electric. "While we've been at the forefront of IPv6 implementation, it must be a global effort. We hope to help strengthen the resolve of the network community." Hurricane Electric's IPv6 network growth has also come from its other services to the industry; IPv6 Self Certification and the free IPv6 tunnel broker service, located at http://tunnelbroker.net, are allowing network engineers, system administrators, and end users to participate in the future of the Internet.
