Sep 17, 2009 (Pioneer Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- A video put together by two Twin Cities siblings parodying Kanye West's antics at a recent awards show is attracting a stir on the YouTube Web site this week.

The parody, done to the Jay Z rap tune "Run This Town," which features Kanye West, takes a humorous bit pointed swipe at the performer's behavior at the MTV Video Music Awards show Monday night.

West jumped on stage, grabbed the microphone from country singer Taylor Swift after she received the award for best female video of the year and told the crowd that he thought Beyonce had made one of the best videos of all time.

Beyonce later won for best video of the year, and invited Swift to the stage to give the acceptance speech denied her earlier.

The brother-sister act -- Luke Thompson, a Kanye West fan and a junior at St. John's, and his sister, Maggie Thompson, a sophomore at St. Benedict's -- put the video together the morning after the show.

The video is, as Marty the Zebra from the movie "Madagascar" would say, "off the chazain." It's among the most viewed on the YouTube Web site and earned a five-star rating.

"He's in my top five of all-time entertainers," said Luke Thompson, who wrote the lyrics to the parody and also videotapes his school's football games for the coaching staff. His sister, a pre-med student, sang the lyrics.

"But he should not be looked upon as a role model outside of the music," added Thompson, the son of veteran Ramsey County probation officer Tom Thompson.
