Hess Selects Virtustream for SAP HANA Cloud Deployment

Virtustream, the enterprise-class cloud software and services provider, today announced that Hess Corporation, a leading global independent energy company engaged in the exploration and production of crude oil and natural gas, has migrated its SAP (News - Alert) HANA test, dev and QA environments to Virtustream's xStream cloud platform.

Prior to selecting Virtustream, Hess faced challenges with the management and maintenance of its SAP HANA deployment. In need of a cloud solution that offered an OPEX (News - Alert) instead of CAPEX model, Hess evaluated Virtustream and determined that the company's SAP-certified xStream cloud offering and expertise with complex HANA deployments matched their requirements.

By specializing in the migration of mission-critical applications to the cloud, Virtustream is able to help enterprises, such as Hess, enhance the capabilities of their IT environments using the cloud. Within 10 days, the implementation was complete - despite an initial timeline of 30 days. Virtustream also assisted Hess with the deployment of its production SAP environment to the company's on-premise data center and will provide maintenance and management support for both the production and non-production cloud environments. Hess is also using Virtustream cloud storage for backup and disaster recovery purposes.
