[November 22, 2008] Help on the Web Tweet Nov 22, 2008 (Daily Press - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- VICTORVILLE --Kenn Cobb, youth pastor at Holy Temple Christian Center in Victorville, is using the Internet to embark on a new ministry. "I have been delivered from pornography for several years, and the Lord told me this past summer that what he delivered me from will be my ministry," Cobb said. B y s h a r i n g h i s testimony and creating two Web sites for those who are struggling yet embarrassed to discuss the issue, Cobb hopes to help others. Cobb said his sister's boyfriend introduced him and his brothers to pornographic movies in the mid 80's. "For more than 1 7 ye a r s I was in bondage," Cobb said. H e wa s s ave d i n 1997, and the following year, he started t o co n -- front the issue while his pastor in St. Louis was speaking to the congregation. Cobb recalled his pastor saying he knew someone there "had movies that they should not be watching." "I knew then it was time for me to be delivered," Cobb said. That night he went home and destroyed all the movies he had. "One of my ministries and missions is to help others get set free, delivered and healed from porn," C o b b said. He said his g o a l i s t o h e l p o t h e rs r e ga r d -- l e s s o f age, gend e r o r m a r i t a l status. "This demonic spirit has spread rapidly, even in the church," Cobb said. "But I can tell you that God is a healer and with your faith in Him, you can be set free too." Cobb said he was e s p e c i a l l y m ove d by M at t h ew 5 : 2 8 , "But I say unto you t h at wh o s o eve r looketh on a woman t o l u s t a f t e r h e r h at h co m m i t t e d adultery with her already in his heart." In addition to his new Web sites, Cobb has also written a play about the issue of pornography. It was performed at his church about two years ago. He said the response to the play was another factor that made him aware of how many people need help in this area. Cobb's Yahoo Web site is at brotherkc@ yahoo.com. At e i t h e r We b page, people who are "searching for prayer and deliverance from pornography that they may start a new life" can reach out for help.
