Harris and MainConcept Expand Scope Of Codec Licensing Agreement; Broader Selection of MainConcept Codecs Will Enhance Wider Range of Harris Broadcast Products

AACHEN, Germany & CINCINNATI --(Business Wire)-- March 27, 2006 -- MainConcept announced today that the Broadcast Communication Division (BCD) of Harris Corporation has expanded the scope of the agreement under which it licenses software codecs from MainConcept. Harris will now license a broader selection of MainConcept codecs and use them in a wider range of Harris BCD products than before.

The MainConcept software codecs facilitate high-speed, high-quality compression and decompression of video and audio. Current Harris products incorporating MainConcept codecs include the Leitch Velocity(TM) line of non-linear editing systems for news and post production, and the Inscriber(R) family of broadcast graphics systems.

"We are happy that Harris has chosen to expand our relationship," said Markus Moenig, founder and CEO of MainConcept. "Harris has been a respected leader in broadcast technology for decades, and we are proud to power a growing variety of their products."

"MainConcept codecs have been an integral part of our Velocity editing systems for years," said Dan Mance, Chief Technology Officer for Harris BCD's Leitch business unit. "As software-based compression and decompression becomes increasingly prevalent in other product areas, we are pleased to build on that success with extended use of MainConcept's technologies."
