Greenway's New API Developer Portal Speeds Innovation in Health IT

CARROLLTON, Ga. --(Business Wire)--

Greenway Medical Technologies, Inc., which delivers innovative software and business services solutions for ambulatory care providers through its PrimeSUITE® platform, unveiled today its new interactive Developer Portal and extended PrimeSUITE application programming interface (API).

The Greenway Developer Portal facilitates the rapid creation of applications that interoperate with Greenway's PrimeSUITE EHR and practice management solution, providing access to the robust PrimeSUITE API and extensive support resources that help developers quickly master it. Solutions created with these tools can earn Greenway API certification and entrance to the Greenway Marketplace, which helps Greenway® customers easily evaluate and implement products that add value to their PrimeSUITE implementation.

Rapid Innovation, Faster Time to Market

"Consistent with our commitment to interoperability, we've created the most open and secure ambulatory IT solution platform available in the industry today," said Greenway President and Chief Executive Officer Tee Green. "All health IT developers interested in innovating with Greenway now have the resources they need to fast-track the delivery of high-quality, integrated solutions to Greenway customers."

Greenway's web-services API is platform-agnostic, accommodating the tools developers have already mastered from HTML/JavaScript to MUMPS, with secure authorization through such industry standards as SAML. All request/response data is encrypted using HTTPS connections between the partner, API and PrimeSUITE for a thoroughly secure, open ambulatory IT platform.

Praise from Early Adopters

While the Greenway API previously existed in a more basic form, extensions to the API and the Developer Portal's rich sandbox for build-assistance and testing are tremendous advancements that won approval from Greenway partners involved in beta testing.

"DMEhub's technology team consistently praises both the Greenway API and the Greenway Developer Portal that supports it," said Jeff Jacobs, president of ePrescribing solution provider DMEhub. "From the well-documented API to the straightforward implementation, the Greenway developer platform continues to be the easiest way to build our 'app for that'."

CEO Lawson Boothe of Vital Interaction, a clinical communications systems provider, said that "Intgrating directly through Greenway's web-based API allows us to quickly and easily get our customers live with a minimal amount of work. It also gives our customers the ability to turn on our product without having to provide us access to their local systems."

Sean Ramsey, president of patient-engagement solution provider Updox, noted that "The Greenway partner program and developer portal is such an innovative and refreshing way to interact with a partner. The tools and support we've received has enabled us to rapidly integrate our electronic faxing and secure messaging solutions, so we can get our solution to market fast."
