Governor Snyder Proclaims Jan. 22-28 "Michigan School Choice Week"; Joins Leaders Nationwide in Celebrating Opportunity in Education


Gov. Rick Snyder (News - Alert) has proclaimed Jan. 22-28 Michigan School Choice Week, joining 14 other governors and more than 500 mayors and county leaders in issuing similar proclamations.

Michigan residents will host 730 events during National School Choice Week, an important part of the more than 21,000 independently planned events being held across the country. Events will include rallies, round-table discussions, coffeehouse meet-ups, festivals, school fairs, and more.

The largest-ever celebration of opportunity in education, National School Choice Week is a nonpartisan, nonpolitical effort seeking to raise awareness about the school choice options parents have, or want to have, for their children.

"It's exciting to see the enthusiasm for school choice in Michigan and across the country," said Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. "National School hoice Week provides people with the opportunities to have conversations about the benefits of school choice in their families, schools, and communities."



Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent public awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. Through thousands of independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
