Governor Baker Proclaims Jan. 21-27 "Massachusetts School Choice Week"; Joins Leaders Nationwide in Celebrating Opportunity in Education

January 21-27 will officially be School Choice Week in Massachusetts, thanks to a proclamation from Gov. Baker, who joins dozens of other governors and hundreds of city and county leaders in proclaiming the week.

More than 32,000 School Choice Week events and activities will take place across the country, including nearly 400 in Massachusetts. Events include rallies, roundtable discussions, coffeehouse meet-ups, festivals, school fairs, and more.

"We're grateful to Gov. Baker for issuing this proclamation," said Andrew Campanella, president of National School Choice Week. "Massachusetts parents, like parents everywhere, want their children to learn and grow in an environment that best suits their individual skills and needs. We hope National School Choice Week will provide them with an opportunity to find what wors best for them."

Held every January, National School Choice Week is an independent, nonpartisan, nonpolitical public awareness effort designed to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for every child. Through thousands of independently planned events across the country, National School Choice Week raises public awareness of all types of educational choices available to children. These options include traditional public schools, public charter schools, public magnet schools, online learning, private schools, and homeschooling.
