Google Ordered To Turn Over Personal Data It Collected To Court In Oregon (GOOG)

May 28, 2010 (SmarTrend News Watch via COMTEX) -- 5/28/2010- Google (NASDAQ:GOOG) has been ordered to turn over data that it has collected with people's emails, files and digital phone records to an Oregon district court by next week, according to a Bloomberg report.

The company sends out cars to photograph streets and houses that people can see with the Street View feature in Google Maps. According to a complaint filed, the company also scanned for Wi-Fi networks used for Internet access and collected private data from the wireless networks of some homes.

Google said on its blog earlier in the month that it mistakenly collected the Wi-Fi data.
