[November 25, 2009] Godwin Grech cleared of contempt charge Tweet Nov 25, 2009 (The Age - ABIX via COMTEX) -- Former public servant, Godwin Grech, has been cleared of a charge of contempt by a Senate committee. Grech triggered a political scandal when he created a fake email which apparently showed that the Department of Prime Minister & Cabinet used the OzCar financing scheme for political purposes. Documents tabled by the Treasury on 25 November 2009 contain an email message which indicates that Opposition Leader Malcolm Turnbull gave Grech a signal to inform the media about the allegedly improper relationship between Prime Minister Kevin Rudd and Brisbane car dealer John Grant.
