Glowpoint to offer support for Skype and Google Talk users across OpenVideo cloud
Apr 12, 2012 (TELECOMWORLDWIRE via COMTEX) --
Provider of cloud managed video services Glowpoint Inc (NYSE Amex:GLOW) announced on Thursday that it will be providing call support for Skype and Google Talk users across the OpenVideo cloud from late June 2012.
The company said Skype and Google Talk users on desktops or mobile devices will now be able to connect securely and reliably in the cloud via Glowpoint's Virtual Video Room (VVR), a fully cloud-hosted service for on-demand videoconferencing that supports calling between videoconferencing endpoints across any network. Skype and Google Talk users will also be able to to easily dial into conferences via a private participant code.
Glowpoint added that its expanded support from the OpenVideo cloud will also allow Skype and Google Talk users to connect to multi-point meetings with participants on standards based video endpoints from manufacturers such as Cisco, Polycom and LifeSize. Video call support via the VVR for video applications is already provided on iPhones, iPads, and Android devices, including support for audio only participants.
