Globo acquires Dialect Technologies for USD800,000

Feb 13, 2012 (M2 EQUITYBITES via COMTEX) -- IT, SaaS and mobile solutions group Globo plc (LSE-AIM: GBO) announced on Monday that it has acquired New York-based specialist provider of IP telecom technologies and services to international telecom operators and businesses in the US Dialect Technologies Inc.


The company said that it acquired Dialect Technologies for a cash consideration USD800,000 payable in installments. The first installment of USD273,000 was paid on completion; USD227,000 is to be paid within one year; and USD300,000 will be payable subject to the successful achievement of certain targets in 2014.

Dialect's VoIP and mobile telephony technologies include dBox PBX, an IP telephony platform; Hosted PBX, which is based on dBox PBX and delivers PBX functionality as a service over the Internet; and Fixed Mobile Convergence platform (FMC) that allows enterprises to integrate cellular and private network services, which currently supports Blackberry and Android phone systems, with development for iPhone and Windows Phone underway. These technologies and services will be integrated into Globo's products.


Globo added that Dialect's management will continue to be responsible for operations and product development. Dialect reported unaudited revenues of USD2.1m and profits before tax of approximately USD60,000 for its fiscal year ending 31 December 2011 and the business is expected to grow further with the expansion of its sales and marketing team for Globo's mobile product and service offerings within the US.
