GfK, United Way Partner to Provide Bicycles to Inner-City Children in Baltimore


GfK has partnered with United Way of Central Maryland to donate 15 brand-new bicycles to inner-city children in Baltimore. During an event held yesterday in Baltimore, members of GfK Consumer Choices team in North America assembled and then donated the bicycles, which United Way will distribute to children enrolled in its homelessness prevention program in the Promise Heights area of Baltimore City.

United Way focuses on changing the odds for families and communities in central Maryland. By working to advance education, financial stability and health through innovative Family Stability programs, United Way helps put families on the path to self-sufficiency, while also reducing student mobility.

"Reliable transportation is a major impediment for Baltimore youth trying to get to school," said Gwilym Jones, Head of Sales, GfK Consumer Choices North America. "We are very glad to support United Way in its excellent efforts to provide much needed help to these young people. We cannot imagine a better way to spend our time and energy than giving these hard-working kids a leg up in their efforts to get ahead."
