Funimation Entertainment, NGames, and GameSamba Announce Strategic Partnership to Create New Video Games

EVERETT, Wash., Jan. 18, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- NGames Interactive Limited, Funimation Entertainment, and GameSamba today announced that they have formed a strategic partnership to create high quality, free-to-play mobile and web games based on anime and other entertainment media properties.

"Quality games based on popular series are increasing in demand," said Jacky Yung, CEO of NGames. "With NGames's experience in developing and publishing games, Funimation's leadership in brand acquisition, marketing and rights management, and GameSamba's expertise in the U.S. gaming market, I'm very excited to see what we can accomplish together."

One of the largest game studios in China, NGames has developed and published many hit free-to-play titles in Asia and the Americas. Using its studios throughout Asia, NGames will work to develop new officially licensed titles, in partnership with Funimation and GameSamba.

"From day one GameSamba was a great fit with Funimation and our strategic plan to extend our anime properties into the gaming space," said Gen Fukunaga, CEO and President of Funimation Entertainment.  "Now with this new strategic partnership with NGames we have the scale and technical resources to take our game development to the next level."

"We've long wanted to help create and run games based on some of our favorite series," said Dr. Scott Wong, co-founder and president of GameSamba. "Thanks to this new partnership, we'll be able to make that a reality."

Currently, GameSamba and NGames are working together on the hitonline game, Star Trek: Alien Domain. For 2016, NGames, Funimation, and GameSamba are already slated to release multiple web and mobile games based on hit series such as Fairy Tail and Tokyo Ghoul, with more titles to be announced.
