(BW)(CA-FRIENDFEED-INC) FriendFeed Launches New International Language Interfaces High-Tech Editors MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE) - Dec. 08, 2008-- FriendFeed Inc. today announced the launch of six new interface languages on friendfeed.com. FriendFeed users can now select from English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese and simplified Chinese. "Almost one-third of our users already participate on FriendFeed in languages other than English," said Bret Taylor, FriendFeed co-founder. "We hope that offering these new interfaces for the site itself will improve their experience on FriendFeed, and enable many more people to discover and enjoy FriendFeed in their native language." "These languages are some of the most popular ones we've seen on FriendFeed so far," said Mr Taylor. "But we're planning to add support for many more languages in the future." FriendFeed is a site where people can stay up-to-date on the Web pages, photos, videos and music that their friends and family are sharing. Its goal is to make content on the Web more useful and discoverable by leveraging users' existing social connections. FriendFeed users get a customized feed of content from news articles to family photos to interesting links and videos shared by people they know. To make sharing easy, FriendFeed automatically imports shared items from more than 50 sites across the Web, including popular sites such as Facebook, YouTube and Flickr. There is no messages, links and photos directly through the site, as well as via email and IM. "FriendFeed offers a unique way to discover and discuss information among friends," said Mr Taylor. "It's a great way to sift through the overwhelming amount of information available on the Web. FriendFeed has the information that you care about, because it's from the people you care about." "The beauty of FriendFeed is that it's so easy to use," added co-founder, Paul Buchheit. "No matter what language you prefer, it takes only a couple of clicks to share a link or start a discussion with friends. It makes everything you're already doing on the Web a little more social." About FriendFeed FriendFeed combines innovative technology and social solutions to make content on the web more relevant and useful. FriendFeed was founded by former Google employees Bret Taylor, Jim Norris, Paul Buchheit and Sanjeev Singh, and is headquartered in Silicon Valley. For more information, please visit friendfeed.com.
