[November 09, 2009] 'French IT services, software market shrinks by 2-3% - study' Tweet (DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) France's IT services market is expected to contract by 2-3 percent to EUR 42 billion this year, after four years of over 5 percent growth, according to IT service providers' association Syntec Informatique. Driven by a 7 percent fall in investment, the country's IT maintenance and services segment is likely to see its revenues fall by 2.5 percent to EUR 24 billion, software publishing by 2.5 percent to EUR 12 billion and IT consultancy by 6.5 percent to EUR 6 billion. IT investment in some segments are resisting well to the crisis, such as energy and the public sector, and the French IT market has done relatively well compared to other large European countries. Syntec expects the IT services market to return to growth in the second half of 2010, with an up to 2 percent improvement in the full year.
