'Forthnet not to bid for Wind Hellas'

(DMeurope Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Greek broadband operator Forthnet has announced it has not submitted a binding offer for Wind Hellas. On 2 October, Forthnet said it made a non-binding offer for the rival operator. Hellas Telecommunications II, the holding company for Greek operator Wind Hellas, received a number of offers to invest in the company. The operator reported it contacted or received unsolicited indications of interest from 29 possible investors. The group said it sees a good chance of securing a "significant cash equity investment" in the company within a short period and planned to call for final, binding bids by mid-October.
