Forged work permits

The acting undersecretary for the labour sector in the ministry Dr Saleh Al-Sheikh said that certain forged transactions were printed outside the ministry. Employers usually discover the forged transactions when they transfer the salary of their employees to local banks and irregularities are noticed. He added that the ministry cooperates with the ministry of interior to adopt effective measures to discover and punish violative men and companies, reported Al Qabas.
Immigration employee held KUWAIT: A security source revealed that detectives arrested an employee in the Capital Immigration Department for forgery. The source stressed that the employee forged a number of transactions, such as giving several expatriates valid residencies although their residencies were expired. The department has started reviewing all the transactions that were completed by the employee, who was referred to the Public Prosecution, reported Al Qabas.
Trio in Iranian custody KUWAIT: The Iranian authorities on Wednesday detained two Kuwaitis and an Asian man for interrogations after they trespassed into Iran's territorial waters. According to a source, the relatives of the Kuwaiti men reported to the coastguards that the group was on a fishing trip since early morning and did not come back till late night. Having received no clue in the subsequent search they carried out, the coastguards communicated with the neighbouring countries and discovered that the missing men were under Iranian custody. Efforts for their release are continuing, according to Al-Watan newspaper.
Infertility surgery KUWAIT: A number of rare surgeries in infertility treatment were performed in the past 36 hours by a visiting professor from Germany on the sidelines of the 11th Obstetrics and Gynaecology Conference that kicked off yesterday. Conference Deputy Chairman Obstetrics and Gynaecology Consultant Dr Jasem Al-Hajji said the most important surgery involved a female patient suffering from birth defects and absence of a uterus and ovaries. Al-Hajji said there were 11 other surgeries including an endoscope hysterectomy and lymph-tumour removal surgery, the average length of surgery being an hour-and-a-half with Kuwaiti surgeons and doctors with the Canadian board in obstetrics assisting. The surgeries were filmed and broadcast live to Adan hospital lecture hall with 180 physicians in the public and private sector attending, the official pointed out.
