Foreign Mobile Phone Brands Still Rank Top Three in China

(SinoCast China Business Daily News Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)BEIJING, May 18, SinoCast -- On May 16, the data issued by CCID Consulting Co., Ltd (CCID Consulting) (HK: 8235) revealed that in the first quarter this year, 24.994 million mobile phones were sold in Chinese market, increasing 15.3% year on year, and 8.5% quarter on quarter, and the sales volume increased 8.8% year on year and 5.6% quarter on quarter, to CNY 36.83 billion.



Although the total sales of the mobile phones increased, the proportion of the Chinese brands in the total sales declined continuously to 36.9%. At present, Nokia, Motorola and Samsung ranked top three in Chinese market, the market share of which respectively was 26.9%, 13.4% and 9.02%.

Among the Chinese brands, the sales of Lenovo, CECT and Telsda increased rather rapidly, the market share of which rose at various degrees, and the ranking of traditional national brands of Konka and TCL all declined, except Bird and Amoi behaved acceptably.
