Five new faculty join ABAC


TIFTON, Aug 13, 2011 (The Moultrie Observer - McClatchy-Tribune Information Services via COMTEX) -- Five new full-time faculty members and a visiting Fulbright Scholar will be a part of the classroom instruction expertise available for the students of Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College when classes begin for the fall semester on Aug. 15.



In the School of Agriculture and Natural Resources, Ray Smith, Ph.D., will serve as head of the Department of Agriculture, and Jason Scott will serve as an assistant professor in the Department of Forest Resources.

Connie High will join the School of Science and Mathematics as an instructor in the Department of Mathematics. Danny Warren will serve as an instructor in the School of Nursing and Health Sciences. In the School of Human Sciences, assistant professor Chase Hagood will teach in the Department of History.


Zsuzanna Bogre, Ph.D., is a visiting Fulbright Scholar from Hungary. She will be teaching three classes at ABAC this year.

New staff members who have joined the college since May 2011 include Director of Student Financial Services Shawn Thomas and enrollment counselors Amanda Wulle and Kaitlin Stannard. Registrar Tarrah Mirus will join the Office of Admissions on Sept. 1.

Lynda Fisher, human resources assistant, is a new addition to the Office of Human Resources. Jennifer Gunn is the new administrative assistant to the HEP/CAMP program. Teddy Spikes has joined the SODEXO staff as a maintenance technician.

The ABAC Police Department has added Austin McGinn and Jeff Kelly as police officers.
