Exostar's Life Sciences User Community Surges

Exostar, whose cloud-based solutions help companies in aerospace and defense, life sciences, and healthcare mitigate risk and solve their identity and access challenges, today announced accelerating momentum for adoption of its identity and access management platform by the life sciences industry. Over 500,000 users, nearly 20% of whom work in life sciences, now rely on Exostar for secure access to business-critical applications that facilitate cross-organizational information sharing.

Exostar's identity and access management platform provides a seamless, single sign-on user experience for individuals to reach clinical learning management systems, electronic trial master files, and other applications so they can securely and productively train and collaborate. Platform use by the life sciences industry has grown by over 200% thus far in 2016.

Much of the recent growth derives from clinical trials use cases. Exostar's platform serves as the identity and access management solution for TransCelrate's Shared Investigator Platform (SIP). Nearly two dozen global biopharmaceutical research and development organizations are members of TransCelerate. Several already are working with Exostar in conjunction with the SIP initiative to connect their applications and onboard their own and their external partners' site personnel to the Exostar platform. Exostar offers a variety of credentialing and onboarding options that speed the process and reduce its cost.

"Secure, efficient collaboration, both internally and with partners, is the essential element to clinical trials and other activities throughout the drug research and development lifecycle," said Richard Addi, Exostar's CEO. "As the number of organizations, individuals, and applications in the workspace rises, so does the challenge of protecting sensitive data and intellectual property. Exostar's robust, scalable, proven identity and access management platform has rapidly become the standard for the life sciences industry to meet and overcome that challenge."

Increased demand and adoption of the identity management platform is expected to continue in the second half of the year. More life sciences sponsor organizations and their partners are coming to Exostar directly and/or via TransCelerate SIP to engage and expand their use of the platform to securely and productively conduct business.
