EXCO Resources Rises 8.78% on Heavy Volume: Watch For Potential Pullback
Feb 14, 2012 (SmarTrend(R) News Watch via COMTEX) --
EXCO Resources (NYSE:XCO) traded in a range yesterday that spanned from a low of $6.87 to a high of $7.45. Yesterday, the shares gained 8.8%, which took the trading range above the 3-day high of $7.44 on volume of 9.0 million shares. Often times after large one-day gains, short term traders will seek to take profits and, as such, investors should be cautious.
Over the past year, EXCO Resources has traded in a range of $6.80 to $21.04 and is now at $7.43, 9% above that low. The 200-day and 50-day moving averages have moved 1.5% lower and 2.66% lower over the past week, respectively.
SmarTrend recommended that its subscribers protect gains by selling shares of EXCO Resources on December 13th, 2011 by issuing a Downtrend alert when the shares were trading at $10.42. Since that call, shares of EXCO Resources have fallen 34.4%. We are now looking for when a new Uptrend will commence and will alert SmarTrend subscribers in real time.
