ETF Global Launches Inaugural ETF Portfolio Challenge

Research indicates that investors 30 and under account for nearly a quarter of all investment in Exchange-Traded-Funds (ETFs), with that age segment investing in ETFs more heavily than any other age bracket. It's clear that ETFs have become the vehicle of choice for millennials looking to invest in today's markets. To help educate this increasingly influential generation, ETF Global - a leading research, data and educational firm for ETFs - has kicked off its first-ever ETF Global Portfolio Challenge.

ETF Global's goal is to challenge and educate students about investing and Exchange-Traded-Funds. Students from dozens of universities all over the country have already signed up and are participating in the contest.

Throughout the semester-long challenge, student investors will construct a virtual portfolio utilizing four-to-ten ETFs with an initial virtual balance of $100,000. Participants will attempt to construct the top-performing ETF portfolios and each will compete on the investment performance of their respective virtual portfolio. The top five performing investors will be recognized on ETF Global's website and in-person at the leading ETF industry conference, the ETP Forum hosted in New York City by the Expert Series. Winners will also be eligible for micro-internships with top players in financial services, as well as for a private lunch with Wall Street mentors following the event.

"The ETF Global Portfolio Challenge not only provides students with a hands-on way to learn about investing in ETFs, but it also affords them a unique opportunity to network with some of the industry's top-tier mentors and potential employers," says Russell Minetti, the contest program director at ETF Global. "It's no surprise that younger investors relate better to the investment experience of ETFs and robo-advisors and see this contest as a way to further engage their interest in ETFs while helping to educate and mentor this next generation of investors."

The ETF Global Portfolio Challenge will take place semi-annually during the fall and spring semesters. Enrollment for the inaugural challenge is free and is currently open and ends Sept. 18, 2015.
