(BioWorld Today Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) , of Lexington, Mass., reported net product sales of Zyflo CR (zileuton) extended-release tablets and Zyflo (zileuton tablets) of about $3.3 million for the first quarter, up 15 percent from first-quarter 2007 sales. The company posted a net loss of $10.8 million, or 25 cents per share, for the three-month period. As of March 31, it had cash and investments totaling $20.5 million. Shares of Critical Therapeutics (NASDAQ:CRTX) closed at 40 cents Friday, down 2 cents.

? InSite Vision Inc., of Alameda, Calif., reported total revenue of $7.9 million in the first quarter, the majority of which reflects the amortization of the up-front license fee and milestone payment previously received under its deal with Durham, N.C.-based Inspire Pharmaceuticals Inc. for bacterial conjunctivitis drug AzaSite (azithromycin ophthalmic solution). First-quarter revenue also includes a royalty payment from Inspire for $382,000 from sales of AzaSite. Net income was $970,000, or 1 cent per share. InSite had cash, equivalents, restricted cash and short-term investments of $61.8 million as of March 31. The company's stock (AMEX:ISV) gained 5 cents Friday to close at 69 cents.

? Omrix Biopharmaceuticals Inc., of New York, posted first-quarter revenues of $17.7 million, a 14.2 percent increase over the same period in 2007. Total product sales were $15.1 million, with $6.1 million coming from biosurgery products, including Evicel and Evithrom, and the remaining $9 million from immunotherapy product sales. First-quarter net income totaled $2.1 million, or 12 cents per share. Omrix ended the quarter with about $82.5 million in cash, equivalents and short-term investments. Shares of Omrix (NASDAQ:OMRI) closed at $13.58 Friday, down 65 cents.
