Dr. Levin will be responsible for providing guidance on Nativis' clinical and preclinical programs.

  • Dr. Michael Prados, Professor-in-Residence and the Charles B Wilson Chair of Neurosurgery at the University of California San Francisco.
  • Dr. Santosh Kesari, Chair, Department of Translational Neuro-Oncology and Neurotherapeutics, Professor of Neurosciences, John Wayne Cancer Institute and Director of Neuro-Oncology at Pacific Brain Tumor Center at Providence Saint John's Health Center.
  • Dr. Jerry Radich, Member of the Clinical Research Division of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center.

A world-renowned expert in brain tumor research and treatment, Dr. Levin is currently Emeritus Professor of Neuro-Oncology at the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center and is the former Chairman of the Department of Neuro-Oncology and Director of the Multidisciplinary Brain Tumor Center. Prior to joining the University of Texas, Dr. Levin was a professor at the University of California, San Francisco in the Departments of Neurosurgery and Pharmaceutical Chemistry as well as Chief of the Neuro-Oncology Service of the Brain Tumor Research Center. He is also the founder and first president (1995-97) of the Society for Neuro-Oncology.


Dr. Levin's most recent laboratory research efforts involved the development of novel cell-based 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional assays to speed the development of new combinations that selectively inhibit signal transduction pathways critical to tumor proliferation. His research includes pharmacokinetics studies of anticancer drugs in the brain and cerebrospinal fluid, experimental and clinical studies of chemotherapy during radiation therapy, chemotherapy regimens for the treatment of Gliomas, and studies of chemotherapy and radiation therapy for childhood Medulloblastoma and Ependymoma. Dr. Levin has authored more than 370 publications including the book, Cancer in the Nervous System.

Dr. Levin received his M.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and completed his residency in neurology and NINDS fellowship programs at Massachusetts General Hospital.
