Dorado Systems hires new CTO and opens new R&D office in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, Aug. 11, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Dorado Systems, LLC is proud to welcome Scott Wasserman as Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Wasserman, previously the Founder & CTO of Artisan Mobile, will be responsible for the Research and Development team leadership, and will be opening the newest Dorado office in Philadelphia. With over 25 years of experience working for and founding entrepreneurial cutting-edge companies, Scott has delivered innovative solutions for global brands that have garnered industry recognition and technology patents.  He was recently awarded 2015 Top IT Pro from Philadelphia Business Journal.  Both the city of Philadelphia and the entrepreneurial spirit are genuine passion points for Scott.

Ed Kennedy, Founder and Principle at Dorado Systems, says, "The minute I sat down with Scott I knew he was the right fit for Dorado. Scott brings the level of experience and expertise to take the Dorado R&D team and products to the next level. With Scott at the helm as our new CTO, Dorado is positioned to expand rapidly in the ever growing healthcare technology market." Kennedy went on to say, "Scott's involvement in the local business and tech community is truly aligned with Dorado's commitment to the area. We are thrilled to expand our footprint into this space in Old City and engage with the talent and culture of the city."

Wasserman felt the same when he and Kennedy met, "Ed and I met right before the sale of Artisan and immediately hit it off. I knew that I didn't want to leave Philly as part of the acquisition and it was perfect timing to take on the CTO role that Dorado was looking to fill. I'm so impressed with what he and his team have accomplished without the need for funding."

In the past year, he city of Philadelphia has flourished under several collaborative initiatives to attract and support entrepreneurial businesses. For technology start-ups in particular, Scott has been deeply involved with this effort. "Philly is the only place I want to build a rock-star R&D team and moving Dorado's R&D to the city is crucial to the growth of the company. The opportunity to move back into the old Artisan HQ is a dream come true. We're building an exciting, engineering-driven culture and immediately hiring to build out the team," said Wasserman.

Rick Nucci, President of Philly Startup Leaders and Founder and CEO of Guru added, "Scott has been a driving force in bringing tech and startup companies to Philadelphia. He has helped create a supportive environment for the tech community and is a respected leader and mentor. We're psyched to have him back in Philly and look forward to watching Ed, Scott and the Dorado team continue the growth of their company in the city."

The Mayor's office echoed excitement and support; "Philadelphia is a startup city so we're excited to see founders and innovators such as Scott Wasserman continuing to build and grow new companies here," said Mayor Michael A. Nutter. "My administration, under the leadership of Deputy Mayor Alan Greenberger through efforts such as Startup PHL, has worked hard to support the startup community as they build companies and create jobs in the City of Philadelphia. We welcome the members of the Dorado team to Philly and look forward to their success and growth under Ed and Scott's leadership."
