DIPLOMAT: IRAN HOPES NUCLEAR DOSSIER RETURNS TO IAEA

(Interfax News Agency Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge)MOSCOW. April 18 (Interfax) - The Iranian ambassador to Russia, in a Tuesday radio program, expressed hope that Iran's nuclear dossier will be returned to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) by April 28, the deadline the UN Security Council has set for Tehran to suspend its uranium enrichment.

"April 28 may become a pleasant date both for us and for all countries if all those states help hand over the Iranian nuclear dossier to the IAEA and lay the basis for Iran's nuclear dossier to be considered within the IAEA framework without any pressure," Gholamreza Ansari told Moscow's Ekho Moskvy radio.

Iran is open for transparent cooperation with the IAEA if this means respect for the country's rights, Ansari said.

"We have no problems cooperating with the IAEA. We are
ready to
make every effort to prove that our program is purely
peaceful," hesaid.

Iran would also welcome help from foreign companies in pursuing its nuclear program, the ambassador said.

In a comment on U.S. threats to use armed force to stop
Iran
developing nuclear weapons, he said: "Our region won't put up
withanother crisis."

In answering a question, the diplomat said he knew nothing about a reported visit by a senior Iranian official to Washington on Tuesday. "But Iran has repeatedly said it is ready for dialogue with various countries at various levels in order to make explanations," he said.
