'Dial-up internet to be extinct in UK by 2012 - expert'

Jan 07, 2009 (DMEUROPE via COMTEX) --
Dial-up internet will be extinct in the UK by 2012 as consumers switch
to faster and cheaper broadband, according to future trends expert
Richard Watson. Writing in the Daily Mirror newspaper, Watson said
video shops will also disappear by 2013 as faster broadband allows
consumers to download films in a few seconds. He also predicted that

satellite navigation will be standard in new cars and mobile phones by
2014 and that DVDs will vanish by 2018 as high-speed downloads take
over.
