Curtain falls on Bahrain International eGovernment Forum 2014 [Bahrain News Agency]


(Bahrain News Agency Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Manama, Apr23(BNA)The curtain today fell on the 9th edition of the Bahrain International eGovernment Forum. Deputy Premier and Chairman of the Supreme Committee of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa patronized the event.



More than 5000 participants attended the opening ceremony and different work sessions at the Ritz Carlton Hotel, in addition to 67 keynote speakers. Deputy Premier and Chairman of the Supreme Committee of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Shaikh Mohammed bin Mubarak Al Khalifa also opened at the Bahrain International Circuit (BIC)'s Paddock Hall the Bahrain IT Expo 2014, which was held on the sidelines of the Bahrain International e-Government Forum 2014, with the participation of over 80 exhibitors.

The opening ceremony was attended by 850 people, including the Deputy Premier, ministers, MPs, Shura Council members, diplomats, IT experts and participants representing 16 countries, including the GCC member states, Korea, Lebanon, Palestine and Morocco. A new look national portal of the Bahrain e-Government (Portal Plus) was launched an outstanding winners were presented with the eGovernment Excellence Awards-2014. The forum was organised by the eGovernment Authority in collaboration with Bahrain Internet Society, Bahrain Society of Engineers and Project Management Institute - Arabian Gulf Chapter.
