Creating IT Futures Foundation Announces New Board Members


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) DOWNERS GROVE, Ill., July 30 -- The Computing Technology Industry Association issued the following news release: The Creating IT Futures Foundation has updated its governing board with two new directors.



Guy Fruda, director of East Region Technology for Deloitte Services, and Joseph Squeri, Chief Information Officer of Citadel, were chosen to help guide Creating IT Futures as it continues to grow the IT-Ready program and develop a national youth tech careers initiative.

"We are so fortunate to be able to continue to draw on top leadership in the IT industry to help guide our foundation," said Creating IT Futures CEO Charles Eaton. "Guy and Joe will certainly help us generate new ideas for widening access to IT careers." Diana Ermini, IBM Business Analytics Market Management, moves up to the role of board chair, while Angel Pineiro, Senior Vice President of Services at ASI System Integration, moves into the position of vice chair.


Rotating off the board after three years of outstanding and dedicated service are: Pamela Green, President and CEO of Easter Seals TriState in Cincinnati; Chuck Lennon, President of TeamLogic IT; and Susan Underhill, former Vice President, Worldwide Enterprise Marketing, HP ExpertOne, Hewlett-Packard.

The remaining board directors and officers are: * James Afdahl, Vice President and CFO, GED Testing Service * Julius Clark, Information Security Officer, Wells Fargo * Paul Cronin, Senior Vice President, Atrion Networking Corp.

* Charles Eaton, CEO, Creating IT Futures Foundation * Rebekah Harvey, Ph.D., Director of Learning Product Management, Hewlett-Packard * Todd Thibodeaux, President and CEO, CompTIA * Hayward West, Solutions Network (SNET) Leader of Architecture, Deloitte Consulting.

Dan Liutikas, Chief Legal Officer, CompTIA, and David Sommer, CFO, CompTIA, remain on the board as secretary and treasurer respectively.

Board directors are eligible to serve three consecutive one-year terms. Here's a brief look at the newest members to the board: Guy Fruda, Director, East Region Technology, Deloitte Services, New York, NY Guy Fruda joined Deloitte Consulting as a manager in May 2000 and began leading multiple large-scale technology integrations for some of the firm's top consulting clients. After 9/11, he was asked to focus his attention internally and lead Deloitte Consulting's Tri-State IT organization on a strategic/tactical vision for support. After being responsible for multiple Deloitte office locations, he continued to manage that organization until it joined with Deloitte & Touche and formed the current technology structure that still exists today. Mr. Fruda has since held multiple roles in the organization, including his current role as the Regional Technology Director for the East Region (approximately 32,000 practitioners and 170 staff) and member of the East Region Executive Committee. He is active in many national programs including Pencil, Year Up and NPower. Mr. Fruda holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from St. John's University and a master's degree in computer science from Boston University.

Joseph Squeri, Chief Information Officer, Citadel, Chicago, Illinois As chief information officer at Citadel, Joseph Squeri leads technology essential to the firm's success. His team supports strategy, development and innovation for Citadel's technology applications and infrastructure. He also serves as a member of Citadel's Portfolio Committee. Mr. Squeri has more than 25 years of experience in the financial sector, including extensive technology and operations expertise. Before joining Citadel, he was the Chief Information Officer of Barclays' Capital Markets and Asset Management businesses. Mr. Squeri was also formerly at Goldman Sachs, where he was Global Co-head of the Securities Division, helping to build the company's leading platform for cash and derivative trading. Active in the nonprofit Per Scholas, he was named their Man of the Year in 2013. Mr. Squeri received a bachelor's degree from the City University of New York and a master's in finance from Pace University.
