(Western Mail (Wales) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) LOCATED in the new state-ofthe-art management building at the university's Llandaff campus, the Cardiff School of Management prides itself on having a strong reputation in applied research and active engagement with business and industry, offering students first-class taught courses and unique research opportunities.
The school's four departments: Accounting, Finance and Economics; Business and Management; Information Systems and International Studies, and Tourism, Hospitality and Events Management, offer a wide range of postgraduate programmes and are home to an exciting range of research and enterprise activities designed to maKe a difference to the development of the economy and society in Wales and beyond.
The school also offers an internationally recognised and respected MBA programme with approximately 400 students on the full- time route and many more on the distance learning and top-up options, maKing it one of the largest group of programmes of its Kind in Europe. Furthermore, the new part-time Executive MBA has been developed, offering experienced managers a highly practical and action-oriented approach which combines intensive modular input in weeKend blocKs with real business projects and close tutorial support. Postgraduate student Chris Dunn tells us why he chose to undertake further study within the school: "After three enjoyable years at Uwic studying at undergraduate level,Iwas really eager to continue on to the Masters level that is offered here. After speaking to the programme tutors the programme modules seemed to be very diverse and really appealed to me. One of the elements that really stood out from other programmes at alternative universities was the opportunity to worK with industry organisations in the integrated project and the consultancy project.
"Tourism management for me is an exciting industry. Careers in tourism are wide and varied and can taKe you all over the world.
"Also it is very much customer orientated and I enjoy worKing for the general public.
"This programme has given me greater confidence when dealing with professionals. Furthermore the programme has improved not only my Knowledge but also my project and time management sKills," he added.
